Malignant Prosperity

Recommended Reading: Jeremiah 22.13-23

Jeremiah the prophet, verbalize a sentence against the king Jehoiakim, king of Judah The oracle had a weight. The outbreak of luxurious living, a selfish king who unlike his father, Josiah expanded and embellished his palace at the cost of labor and unpaid uprightly. The oppression was their insignia. So the prophet declares, "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers without any right, which relies on the service of his neighbor without pay, and does not give you the salary" The noble opulence of a king were self-centered people being slaughtered on account of the infamous power.

History has always witnessed such cases, when the arrogance of power generates and massacre the weak.

While the king was worried that houses Extremament comfortable so that would compete with the cedar in its aesthetic and architectural beauty of the season, the poor and downtrodden was at the mercy of chaos which extended throughout the kingdom ... In contrast to his father, in which its erection was the exercise justice and righteousness so that everything happened as well ... Jehoiakim did not know God. He knew the power, greed and violence. Its prosperity was so evil, since it had the value of the next. Any wealth that we waste at the expense of the underprivileged, is absolutely evil. It is the devil himself.

Worst of all, what we see today, is that race means for grasping the most varied expressions and religious, political and ideological. Prosperity generates a malignant spiritual deafness. God speaks and he will never hear, then covered her ears to the cry of the poor, and shut their ears to God. "I spoke to you in your prosperity, but you said I will not listen. This has been your way from your youth, because I never obeyed my voice."

God preserve us from the power generated by the stubbornness and deafness before his voice ... and deliver us from all the prosperity that triggers the good of my neighbor ...
